The Out of the Darkness Campus Walks are the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's (AFSP) signature student fundraising series, designed to engage youth and young adults in the fight to prevent suicide, a leading cause of death.

Day-of Experience: Resources & Activities

Walk Route:The walk is approximately 1.3 miles and will begin at the Hodge Center, continuing through campus past student dorms and Counseling Services. The route will then pass the Health Education Complex and continue onto Gramling Drive. Due to a partial lack of sidewalks, an officer will follow in a patrol car while we walk a small section on Gramling Drive across from Pine Gate Apartments. We will then pass the John C. Stockholm Administration Building and loop back to the Hodge Center, where the walk will end. Some areas offer the option to stay on a sidewalk, though steps are required near the Media Building. Additionally, there are hills on Gramling Drive and Hodge Drive, but no steps are included in the main route.
