We welcome our Greater SLO Communities to gather together with the Cal Poly SLO campus to support mental health awareness and create a space of hope and understanding.
The Out of the Darkness Campus Walks are the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's (AFSP) signature student fundraising series, designed to engage youth and young adults in the fight to prevent suicide, a leading cause of death.

From May 1 through Walk Day on May 17, teams that recruit 5+ members and raise $300 or more will receive an exclusive AFSP tote bag as a thank-you gift!
Not sure how to hit the goal?
Just 6 team members raising $50 each, 5/1/25 to 5/17/25 = $300 total!
Captains qualifying for gift will be mailed the tote after walk day.

Walk RouteThe walk route is approximately 1.2 miles in length throughout the Cal Poly Campus.
We'll also have our community partners available at our event space so you may continue enjoying the event without joining the walk route! |

Parking is FREE ON CAMPUS at our designated Parking Lots noted below. We recommend parking in the Grand Ave. structure (130) or structure (131) noted on our map below. These parking structures will be free on Saturday and are closest to the UU Plaza event space. If you park at a metered spot, you will still be required to pay
